This promotion has now finished and we are waiting to find out how much we have
raised – watch this space for an update.
If you chose Tiger.co.uk to take out your motor insurance policy in March we would have provided £1 from each insurance policy sold, to Tiger Awareness and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).
Tiger.co.uk is concerned about the diminishing population of tigers left in the wild. In India there are only 1200, they are being killed at a rate of one a day*.
Tiger.co.uk helped support work on the ground by giving £1 for each insurance policy sold online in March to Tiger Awareness and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), who work to change this horrific situation and provide better protection for this endangered species.
Already Phil Davies at Tiger Awareness has managed to achieve incredible results by helping villagers that live in tiger range areas with cattle compensation and by raising general awareness of the danger tigers face in the future. Tiger Awareness also provides forest guards with better equipment to perform their duties, which also helps the tiger cause.
IFAW is working to save tigers both on the ground and in the halls of government. In areas where tigers are under threat, IFAW supports anti-poaching work and provides training to rangers, customs officers and law enforcement agencies seeking to reduce the illegal trade in tiger parts. IFAW rescues and rehabilitates orphaned tiger cubs and also works around the world with governments and international bodies to secure tighter regulations against trade in tiger parts and cruel tiger farms.
Together, Tiger Awareness and IFAW are fighting to protect tigers for future generations and every pound you donated by purchasing an insurance policy through Tiger.co.uk went straight through to helping this cause.
As soon as we find out how much we’ve raised we will announce it here, so look for an update in April.
