Vauxhall was started began in 1857 as company called Alexander Wilson & Co, Engineers. In 1897, the company's name became Vauxhall Iron Works Co Ltd, originally making marine engines. In 1925, Vauxhall was assimilated into the General Motors Group and in 2003 Vauxhall celebrated its centenary.
